You may participate in one or all of the following roles:
Cooking - Call Time TBA
Pre-Cook, Bake or Buy a main or side dish and bring it to the “Kitchen”.
Main Dish items are: Ham, Roast, Fried Chicken, Turkey, Cold-cuts & Bread, Mung Beans & Rice
Side Dish items are: Mash potatoes, green beans, sweet potatoes, stuffing, etc..
If you bring a salad please do not mix the dressing in. Bring the dressing to the event and we will put the dressing in individual cups as salad does not travel well.
Assembly - Call Time TBA
Call time is 7:30 a.m. Your help is needed to receive donations of food and clothing from peoples cars. Sort items out downstairs to the appropriate distribution area. Your help will also be needed to serve portions and package individual dinners.
Drivers - Call Time TBA
Will be accompanied by at least two helpers. You will choose an area of Los Angeles to seek out hungry people. Since there will be clothing and toiletries available look for people who are in need of a fresh pair of socks, toothbrush and soap also. You will give them their Valentine’s gift and go find another homeless person until your car is empty. You then can come back or go home, knowing you have made a difference and possibly feeling really good about this for a really long time.
Clothing & Toiletries - Call Time TBA
Donations of blankets, socks, underwear (new only / medium size boxer briefs work for all genders), pants, jackets, shoes. Please drop off at 8 AM the day of the event. We start with a six foot pile of clothes and organize them in neat individual care packages for distribution with boxes of individually portioned meals.
